Poetry Selections: Emily Dickinson

Exultation is the going
of an inland soul to the sea
Past houses – past headlands–
Into deep Eternity.

‘Tis little I – could care for pearls
Who own the ample sea –
Of Periods of seas –
Unvisited of Shores Themselves the Verge of Seas to be
Eternity – is Those–

Explore thyself
Therein thyself
shall find
The “Undiscovered Continent”
No Settler had the Mind

The Brain – is wider than the sky–
For put them side by side –
The once the other will contain With ease –
and You – beside –

Your breath has time to straighten,
Your brain to bubble cool
Deals one
imperial thunder bolt
that scalps your naked soul
