Chuan Zhi Shakya
Rev. Chuan Zhi is a priest of Hong Fa temple where he was ordained in May 1998 at a ceremony officiated by Grandmasters Ben Huan, Jy Din, and Sou Ye. At this ceremony he was elevated to Abbot of the Zen Buddhist Order of Hsu Yun (ZBOHY) which he co-founded with Grandmaster Jy Din in 1997. Prior to this ceremony, Grandmaster Jy (Zhi) Din named Chuan Zhi after himself, which is considered a great honor in the Chan tradition. |
Fa Lian Shakya
Rev. Fa Lian was ordained in 2003. Born in Belgium, she has lived in Greece for more than 30 years. As coabbot, Rev. Fa Lian provides administrative and clerical support for the Zen Buddhist Order of Hsu Yun and translates for our Greek website. A former popular actress, she is now a prominent Chan teacher and practitioner in her community. She also continues to paint and work the earth at her remote mountain retreat where she has lived for the last 15 years.

Yin De Shakya
Rev. Yin De was ordained at Hsu Yun temple in 2001 and resides and teaches in Phoenix, Arizona. teaches and counsels at a Federal Prison in Arizona,
conducts precepts and refuge ceremonies, and performs weddings and other

Fa Dao Shakya
Rev. Fa Dao was ordained in 2004 and became the new Director of the Zen Buddhist Order of Hsu Yun in August, 2004. A longtime "Lone Wolf" student of Rinzai Zen, he began independent Zen studies in 1968. A student particularly of the Lin Chi Lu and Dhammapada, he was ordained into the Order of Hsu Yun in February, 2004. He specializes in one-to-one Dharma instruction at the Ozark Zen Center.

Yin Ming Shakya
Rev. Rev. Yin Ming was ordained at Fan Yun temple in San Francisco in August 2000. She provides private instruction and pastoral care in the Tri-County region of Big Bend Texas and sits with the Morning Glory Sangha based out of Alpine, Texas.

Chuan Yi Shakya
Rev. Chuan Yi was ordained at Hsu Yun temple on August, 1998. As founder and head of the Idaho Mahayana Buddhist Association he has taught Buddhism as a guest speaker at numerous Buddhist temples around the Northwest United States. Rev. Chuan Yi was among the first native born Americans to have recieved precepts and subsequent Ordination from Grandmaster Jy Din Shakya, Abbot of the Hsu Yun temple and founder of the Zen Buddhist Order of Hsu Yun.

Fa Lohng Shakya
Rev. Gu Lang has been an independent student of Zen for over 30 years. Originally ordained in the Japanese Rinzai tradition in 1974, he has studied under the guidance of teachers in the Japanese, Korean, and Chinese traditions. He is a co-founder of the Order of the Boundless Way and is the resident teacher of the Open Gate Zendo in Olympia Washington.

Rev. Fa Jian Shakya
Rev. Fa Jian offers counseling and quidance in Zen to local residents and prison inmates. He spends much of his time with research and development projects aimed at helping the poor attain affordable housing and safe drinking water. His most recent project has been developing solar water distillation units and atmospheric water generation units for use in underdeveloped nations.
